From a nervous system perspective, each of us is an embodiment of the accumulation of life experiences.
The more challenging those experiences were, the more likely they are to show up as physiological symptoms, pervasive stress, anxiety, chronic pain, depression, or dissociation.
Somatic Experiencing provides support to gradually undo these patterns whether you are aware of their roots or not, so that resilience, flexibility, and ease in life can return. You will experience positive, lasting shifts in the way you respond to life, its ups and downs and all those you share it with.
SE utilizes a gentle, paced approach to complete survival, self-protective and /or nervous system responses that remain activated (or partially activated) in the system. The fulfillment of these impulses addresses the causal factors of their traumatic experiences which leads to sustainable healing and change.
SE helps people re-organise and integrate past stressful or incompletely processed experiences including traumatic shock. This supports the restoration of inner and outer connections which is key to transforming PTSD and the wounds of emotional and early developmental trauma.

to restore health, balance, resilience and sense of self.
Understanding what happened in your life can be meaningful. But lasting change only takes place when survival responses, completions and balance in your nervous system states are restored. Somatic Experiencing works directly with bodily sensations, movement and interoceptive awareness at the somatic, physiological level - the root of stored experience.
