No matter where you are, no matter what is happening - you have your breath to work with. With practice, you can use breath to calm the nervous system, aid sleep, ease anxiety, increase focus and energy, shift attitudes & perceptions and help heal old emotional wounding & trauma. I'll teach you how!

 It’s baffling to read the evidential benefits of something as simple, ordinary and accessible as breath when it is done effectively. The challenge is that most of us have a less-than-optimal breath pattern due to years of human experiences accumulated and the innate connection of those to your breath.

Therapeutic breath practices are particularly helpful to unravel old patterns, beliefs and memories that hold us back and physiologically offer a ‘re-set’ to a healthy, natural breath that invites deep healing of the body-mind.

With patient acceptance, past experiences are invited to be re-membered safely and sensitively. Emotions and imprints of the original experience are able to resolve and heal. A revived sense of self, vitality, contentment and connection to life are common side effects.

Breath is a doorway into body, mind and soul. Once you know how to use your breath purposefully, you can link all three. Breath is inherently and primordially linked to the nervous system; the two work hand in hand to create balance or imbalance in the body-mind system. Over time, working with the breath can bring potent and long-lasting healing of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual dis-ease by revolving latent distress held by the subconscious

These practices encourage us first and foremost, to quiet the mind and become acutely in-tune with the body using mindfulness, body-mind holism, voluntary, spontaneous and micro-movement, moving and/or guided meditations, somatic contemplation and other techniques.

With guidance, you will follow subtle clues and allow your body to lead with its own wisdom. Using these practices there is no need to re-enact specific events or memories from the past and we make no effort to do so.  

Rather, healing and transformation happens organically without being drawn in to previous challenging situation or trauma. Instead, these practices de-tangle and unravel with the unconscious, innate wisdom of the body-mind to heal itself.

With patience, experiences and parts of the self that had been lost, repressed or disowned are re-integrated and the holism of the body-mind system is restored.                                                            
Clients report feeling more centred and grounded, greater compassion for Self and Other, expanded agility to flow with life gracefully and connection to live a more fully expressed, connected and vibrant life.

Somatic Embodiment Sessions are available for 1:1, Groups, Retreats and Corporate.

What to expect in an individual breath session varies depending on your previous experience in related work, and to a lesser degree, whether the session is virtual or in-person. Here is what to expect.

In your first session, we'll do more talking than in subsequent sessions, on subjects such as what you’re currently experiencing, previous related practices, the basics of breathwork & somatic therapies and your desired outcomes from working together. In most instances, we’ll also do a short seated breath practice in your first session.

Subsequent sessions will start to go deeper into breath and somatic work at an appropriate pace, custom designed to your unique goals and requisites. Every session will start with a check in - how you’re doing, what came up since we last met and will proceed based on what is topical for you in the moment, serving your highest goals.

You can count on roughly 2/3s of most sessions to be spent in somatic and/or breath practices, tuning in to your body, increasing your awareness and experimenting with specific practices.

Practices we deploy may include mindfulness, movement, bouncing, trembling / shaking, body-based experiments of various somatic based therapies such as Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi, Bioenergetics, meditation, contemplation and reflection, explorations in nervous system, gentle breath practices and more profound breath-based therapeutics.

Some of your sessions will be more profoundly shifting than others, and the key to this practice is to remain curious, patient, and open to the unfolding on its own timeline.

As they say, “you can’t rush your healing”, and simply allowing it to arrive is the sweetest salve.

Our Story

For virtual sessions, please prepare in advance a private space where you can be undisturbed that is large enough for free movement as well as space to lay down (preferably not on your bed)

Please be well nourished and hydrated, but preferably not with a recently full stomach

Regardless if we meet online or in-person, you will be most comfortable in loose fitting clothing that allows you to move and breathe with ease.

How to Best Prepare for your Session 

You may also appreciate having a bolster or a couch cushion or the like under your knees/ upper legs as this can provide additional comfort

 For the latter, many of us use a yoga mat or similar, with a couple of blankets - one for comfort underneath you and another in case you become chilled during a longer breath session.

Please allow extra time following your sessions to ease back into day to day life slowly and mindfully, and if possible, to take further nourishment for yourself such as a walk in nature, some journaling, a warm bath or time to simply rest
